This is how the European Green Plan was born. This model is not only economically profitable &#8211; it is also socially responsible and an example of green transition on a global level. The key goals for Europe to become climate neutral by 2050 were set, as well as the goal of reducing emissions by 55% by 2030. In February 2024, an additional transitional goal of reducing emissions by 90% by 2040 was set.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p>Europe has shown that it is possible to separate economic growth from emissions: since 1990, greenhouse gas emissions have decreased by 32.5%, and the European economy has grown by almost 70%. Despite two unprecedented global crises, most of the European Commission&#8217;s initiatives have been proposed and turned into legislation, and major initiatives have already taken shape.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p>Zrinka Ujevi\u0107, head of the Representation of the European Commission in Croatia, will talk about what has been done in order to achieve the set goals and what is still to come.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Less than 5 years ago, Europe united around a common goal \u2013 to build a development model based on a clean and circular economy.
