NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER AND LEADING EXPERT ON CLIMATE CHANGE
D.Sc. Kajfež Bogataj is the most famous Slovenian scientist, who as a member of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) won the Nobel Peace Prize. She deals with climatology, teaches at several faculties at the University of Ljubljana.
Some of her areas of expertise are biometeorology, applied meteorology and climate change. In 2012, the European Institute for Gender Equality included her in “Women who inspire Europe”, and she is a member of the group for ethics and climate change in UNESCO.
In 2008, the then President of Slovenia awarded her the Order of Merit for climate change research and her commitment to environmental protection.
