Zrinka Ujević

REPRESENTATION OF THE EUROPEAN COMISSION IN CROATIA, HEAD

Zrinka Ujević is the Head of the European Commission Representation in Croatia. During the past period, from 2016 to 2024, she held the position of Director-General for Europe at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. From 2000 to 2014, she played an important role in the mission of the Republic of Croatia to the EU. Initially, she oversaw political issues, and then she was the Head of the office of the Chief Negotiator for Croatia’s accession to the EU. Later, she became Deputy Head of the Permanent Representation of Croatia to the EU while simultaneously taking on the role of her country’s representative to the Political and Security Committee. In earlier stages of her career, she served as the Deputy Head of the United Nations Department at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through which she dealt with various international issues, including security and peacekeeping.

Ms Ujević attended the Diplomatic Academy of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has been ranked Croatia’s Ambassador since 2014.
