Future of tourism : Hit the sustainable road!

Tourism has always been a key driver of economic development in many European destinations, especially those in the Mediterranean, including Croatia. Its impact on GDP, employment, and the local community represents not only a challenge but also an opportunity to create a sustainable story after the era of mass tourism. While traditional images of sun-drenched coastlines slowly fade, new tourists recognize the importance of sustainability in their travels. They increasingly choose destinations that offer an authentic environment, local authentic food, and the opportunity to experience the “being” of local residents. It’s fair to say that today’s tourists are becoming more discerning. In this panel, we will explore the current state of the tourism industry in Europe and Croatia, and how we are adapting to changes and laws related to sustainable tourism. Through the exchange of ideas and sharing of best practices, our speakers will discuss tourism that not only explores the beauty of destinations but also respects the environment, culture, and community. We aim to uncover how sustainable tourism is becoming an integral part of Europe’s legislative framework, providing us with guidelines for the future of tourism. The future of tourism is undoubtedly in our hands, and our experts and adventurers will provide firsthand insights into the future of tourist destinations and countries.
